I have been drinking ceremonial grade matcha for a while and the taste of this really has a superior note, being very bright and grassy and less bitter. However even the taste is great and its sustainably sourced, I am still debating if the taste is so much better, particularly in my coconut milk lattes, that it justifies the stiff price ticket. What I really dislike is the single sachet packaging. Opening these is a hassle, completely non zen-ish and unpleasant. The sachets are stiff with some plastic lining inside, and often you end up only tearing off part the top, always worried that you might cut your finger, and then the tea gets stuck in the unponed part. So I often use scissors to avoid all that. And then you hear the crackling sound of the empty sachet, that now goes into the landfill for every cup I drink my organically and responsibly sourced matcha tea- every time I reach that point I feel that this concept does not make any sense and I miss my little tin jar with matcha tea that I had from other companies, where opening the jar and looking at that beautifully emerald green powder just before dipping in my little bamboo scoop was part of the ceremony.
